Hello doctor, my baby is 5 months old. From past 10 days he started pooping every alternate day or 2 days. One doctor advised me to give lactulose oral solution 1/4 th spoon 2 times a day. I gave him for 4 days. Should I continue it or not? If yes for how many days should I continue?? after giving lactulose syrup he started pooping every day once. Is this common?

A. avoid lactulose syp at this age.it s ok for a baby to not do potty daily as the diet is basically liquid as milk. So even if baby does not poop for 7 days it s all ok and should not be given any medicine at all
