hello doctor, my baby is 1month old 3days old.. every day atleast twice he is getting hiccups and it is taking long time to get back to normal... what shall I do during hiccups....

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy2 years agoA. hiccups in children occur due to gas which is present in the stomach.
during the feeding process child takes air along with milk and that air goes inside the stomach which irritates leading to hiccups.
you have to offer feeding d as well as do proper burping(for atleast 20 minutes) to decrease this problem and it is a self limiting problem
during hiccups just give breastfeeding again and keep the child in upright position for burping which will stop the episode
