Hello Doctor, Can you please advice is MCV vaccination mandatory for 3 years old in India.

Author of questionMom of 2 children2 years agoA. Thanks for the response doctor. my kid had MCV dose 1 on 9 th month, MCV 2 on 12 months, already. do I still need to give MCV to my 3 years old twins. please advice.

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy2 years agoA. meningococcal vaccine is an optional vaccine. it is usually given either at 9 months of age and one year of age as a a 2 dosage regimen or you can go for a single dosage after two years of aged.
your doctor is the best person to tell you whether it is required by your child or not.
my persosnal advice would be that if you can afford the vaccine you should get the child vaccinated for any disease for which vaccine is available
