Q.

from tomorrow my 2.7 year old baby got sudden fever of 100.9f ,I gave her fepanil 250 mg syrup 5ml on 9.30 pm ,temperature was reduced by 1 AM, again temperature raised so I gave paracetamol again in 3.40 am ,temperature reduced for half an hour again raised morning 10 o clock it was 101.3 ,my doctor telling only give paracetamol, why he is not giving meftal ,my question if temperature is not reducing can we give meftal ,but doctor told for paracetamol, but temperature is not reducing, what should I do ,she don't have cold cough or anything, only sometimes very mild cough ,why doctor not suggest for meftal

A. dear mum. meftal is use to give in high temp. Give pcm as per prescribed dose and at proper adviced time interval . For any fever paracetamol is fine..after giving paracetamol wait for 30mins to 1 hour...if fever does not subside you can give tepid sponging
