can I sponge vaccination area of my newborn born with cold damp cloth every 2 hours

Mam instead of doing a sponge it is better for you to keep a cold pack or ice cube on that area which you can do easily in 4 to 6 hours and after that you can apply the ointment which is going to help in reducing the swelling that your child so I would recommend you to use Thermophob
