#asktheexperts Our boy is 14 mnths old. Had fever few days ago and currently has cold with running nose and cough. We are giving ‘Cetzine Syrup’ and Nasal drop. But, seems to be not helping much. It all started with fever which isn’t there any more. Any suggestions

Cough and Cold should be treated only after a proper examination by a doctor after diagnosis.it may be any infection or allergy.it is not so related to food items but seasonal changes may aggravate.maintain good immunity of the child with proper diet and supplements.
if with fever too ,calpol can be given three times a day.give steam inhalation to relieve blocked nose and nasoclear drops can also be used multiple times.
Cough Syrup or nebulization should be given according to the type of cough .self medication is not advisable. if the cough is productive you can give as CSCcoril-ls or ambrodil syrup for now only n continue only after doctor's advice.avoid refrigerated items and give simple home-made preparations as required.child will gradually begin to eat as symptoms resolve.
