A. At six months old, it is the right time to start introducing solid foods along with continued milk feeding. If your daughter is not taking formula milk, and if you are breastfeeding, continue that. If not, try offering formula in small amounts while starting solids. You can start with: Iron-rich foods like rice cereal, moong dal khichdi, mashed vegetables (carrot, pumpkin, potato), Fruits like mashed banana, stewed apple, or pear, Homemade soft purees and slowly move to thicker textures as she gets used to eating. Begin with 1–2 spoonfuls once a day, then gradually increase the quantity and variety. Over time, as your baby starts eating more solids (around 8–9 months), you can gradually reduce formula milk, but milk should still be an important part of the diet up to 1 year. If she refuses formula milk completely, ensure she is getting enough calcium and nutrients from breast milk and food. Always consult your pediatrician before making big changes to her diet.
