#asktheexperts my baby is not gaining adequate weight . From 5 months to 7 months he only gained 400gms in 2 months. Then it stabilised. Now past 40 days he gained only 250 gms. What could b the reason? He is 10 months old and has started solids. Currently weighs 7.75kh

ExpertVandana SharmaNutritionist1 Year agoA. Hello mom.babies are expected to double their birth weight by the age of 4 to 6 months and then triple by the age of 1 year .
weaning foods have to introduced from the age of 5 to 6 months currently their diet should be soft consistency , and gradually increase the variety and quantity
