Q.
#asktheexperts my baby is having fever from yesterday night .the temp is 101 .I have given her paracetamol drops but the fever is not going away .

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. whenever fever is not improving with paracetamol you will have to see if the dosage of the medicine is given according to the weight of the child or not and if the power of the paracetamol is proper.
also if the medicine is older than onxe month after opening then better to buy a new bottle.
you have to give paracetamol and also do body sponge and keep the child in cotton clothes.
after 2 hourxs of paracetamol if the fever is is not improving then you can go for higher medicines like ibugesic or meftal p.
paracetamol can be given maximum four times per day.

please keep her well hydrated
when she has fever please make sure to keeo her well hydrated by giving her breastfeed
please offer her breastfeed
please keeo yourself well hydrated
please contact your pediatrician as well
