#asktheexperts my baby is 5.5months old..immediately i needs to join back for my work. she is having ragi porridge once in a day for past 2months and rest is having her feeds. could u please suggest how to deal with her food routine once i join back

A. definitely of nearing 6m , you can start weaning your child with simple foods that are prepared at home or cerelac, nestum kind of Pre- prepared baby foods. At that time you can also start giving water but it is always preferable to avoid using salt sugar and honey till 1 year. Continue breastfeeding the baby but you should make sure that you are either giving breastfeed or formula Milk but not animal milk before 1 year. You can give rice porridge Ragi porridge mashed soft fruits like Banana Chiku Apple Puree and other seasonal fruits like mangoes, watermelons etc.
