Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy4 years agoA. is very normal for small children to cry and strain while passing stool but if the consistency of the stool is Semi solid to solid do not worry about the frequency of the stool and the child might be crying due to the colic pain so better to meet your doctor

Your child is having constipation for which kindly give plenty of water to drink and fibre diet made from cereals pulses vegetables and fruits. Specially give papaya banana oats fennel seeds water it will help in decreasing constipation and even after that the problem continues kindly meet your doctor for constipation medicine. it is important for you to know that the problem of constipation will improve with increasing age of the child. You may increase or decrease the dosage of constipation medicine if needed according to the consistency of the stool
