#asktheexperts my 4 month old baby has got a red eye from past 8 to 10 days. it was small initially but now it has increased.. what should I do.. consult whom an ophthalmologist or a paediatrician.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Eye Redness is commonly seen because of some allergic condition , infection or any trauma which needs proper examination. if it is associated with some discharge it could be infection bcdut no self medication should be used.

Newborn conjunctivitis
Redness in the eye area of a newborn can be caused by a blocked tear duct, irritation, or infection. Newborn conjunctivitis can be serious, so talk with your pediatrician right away.
