Reward your baby with stars or smileys if he or she even finishes a small part of his or her meal. Give your child a bowl and a spoon and let him or her feed himself or herself. Let the child make a mess and let the child play with the food. This is how he or she will learn to eat on his or her own with a spoon. Offer his or her favourite foods along with the food you want to introduce for the first time. Avoid distractions while eating food. Let the child learn to eat from his parents by watching them enjoy the foods cooked. Let him or her participate in meal preparations such as setting the table before meals or selecting the vegetables for meals.
