Q.

#asktheexperts hi doctor!! My baby girl is 19 month old. she's having cold and fever since yesterday evening. Even though we are giving p-120 paracetamol drops every 6 hours, fever is not subsidising completely. We have given ibuprofen 4 ml in the morning today. It got reduced but after 6 hours again fever persist. what should I do?? My pediatrician suggested not to use ibuprofen frequently. Can I give it again??

A. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it can be allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination.b steam inhalation will be beneficial in bot inh the cases along with decongestant medicine like wikoryl, alex cold In viral illness there can be cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration .

A. You should not use it if your doctor has advised you not to use it you should use basic paracetamol and you can repeat it again in six hours of the fever is rising also you need to know that the fever has a nature of repeating every 4 to 6 hours and if the fever does not subside with continuous usage of paracetamol for Max 72 hours then you can go for further testing but right now you should only give basic paracetamol
