Q.

#asktheexperts hi doctor, my 21 month old baby has RSV viral and he has cold and fever from 5 days. Iam giving calpol every 6hrs. Can i give budecort nebuliser? How to give? Do I need to dilute budecort with water?

A. you can give nebulization with ns bottle that is normal saline water. this will help in decreasing both dry cough as well as will help in decreasing the mucus present in the throat of the child. but other nebulization medicines (asthalin, duolin, budecort etc) can be given to your child is decided by the doctor. so your doctor will decide after examination whether your child needs a nebulization with thxese medicines or not thus the maximum nebulization that you can give to the child without medical consultation is with normal saline it is totally safe and it is not addictive x

A. Its 5 days so u should actually get a blood test done for the chuld as that’s gong to give u clear pic of what is the reason behind the fever and further medication can only b suggested in that basis so check with your doc one time
