#asktheexperts hello doctor, my baby is 4 months and 10 days old.. He is mouthing since he was 3 months old. He puts his fingers in mouth even after feed, tries to take everything in mouth. He is exclusively bf. Whenever he sees us eating anything, he tries to grab to eat (I am assuming he tries to copy us). So, in this situation do you think we need to start solids early as he is showing interest and wants to explore?

Dr GhouseGuardian of 3 children2 years agoA. it is quite natural all the babies will be putting fingers in the mouth it is not a sign of hungar it is not habit please wait for sometime at least up to 6 months for starting complementary foods
