#asktheexperts hello doctor my baby is 10 month old im feeding him,i have pain in my nipple while feeding and it get cracked...i had anti biotic tablet also,it get heal but when i feed him again it get cracks...plz suggest me the reason for cracked nipple...thank you

ExpertDr. Minal AcharyaNutritionist3 years agoA. dear nipple crack is due to improper latching of the baby to breast
take care that baby should not be just sucking at the nipple but the maximum possible areola of the breast should be in baby's mouth
his lower lip should be curled out and chin should touch the breast while feeding
apply breastmilk especially hindmilk to the crack
