#asktheexperts can we feed Oats to 8 months old baby, and which oats can be given?

A. Hello!! If your baby is actively taking other solids or semi solids like mashed potatoes, boiled vegetables, or Dal… you can try plain oats with dal mix. After your baby accepts it, add carrot or soft boiled bottle gouard or turnip to oats preparation. Go slowly and let your baby first accept simple.

A. hi yes you can but better to avoid giving it because oats are bulky in nature,so it keeps baby's stomach full for long period and decrease the apetite. so better to give other food items like variety of fruits ,ragi porridge, multigrain idli, makhana porridge etc
