Q.

#AskTheExpert yesterday I got blood transfusion of 1 packet (450ml) As per my gynecologist advice. is there any infection or any side effects on my baby or me because of this blood infusion?. I am in my 9th month around 38 weeks will I get normal delivery ? my heamoglobin is 8.2 I don't know how much blood has increased after this blood infusion. please advice. can I get normal and safe delivery ??

A. Usually only 1 point improvement will come after a single whole blood transfusion is done. Did you have packed cells? It will not have any effect on your baby don’t worry

A. I think it was packed cells only I am not sure. it was in packet of 450 ml. while injecting the blood was clotting and stopping every now and then ,nurse had to little warm that packet and inject again.

A. hi mam ,it takes around 1 or 2 months to reflect it in body. but mam , type of delivery depends on many factors like baby size, baby position, amunuitic fluid amount etc too so please don't take much stress for this. take necessary follow ups from your gynecologist strictly do as per his/her suggestions
