A. Myometrial thickness ranges from 2 to 40 mm. A myometrial thickness of 5 mm or less is considered to be normal.Endometrial hyperplasia is caused by too much estrogen and not enough progesterone. If there's too little progesterone, your uterus isn't triggered to shed its lining (menstruation). The lining continues to thicken due to estrogen. The cells in the lining may crowd together and become irregular.
