#asktheexpert when my baby can sheet

A. Most babies begin to sit with support around 4 to 6 months of age and can usually sit independently by 6 to 8 months. Early on, they may need help or pillows to keep them balanced. As their neck, back, and core muscles strengthen, they gain better control and can sit steadily without support. Giving your baby supervised "tummy time" daily helps develop these muscles. Every baby develops at their own pace, so a slight delay is usually not a cause for concern. However, if your baby isn’t trying to sit at all by 9 months, it’s a good idea to consult your pediatrician.
