Q.

#asktheexpert my ten months old baby has fever around 102 -103 temperature from last four days.when medicine is given temperature goes down and again after 5-6 hour temperature rises.dengue and other tests are normal.I have given meftal-p and crocin also.Please help.

A. for fever as well as pain kindly give paracetamol according to the weight of child as well as according to the power of paracetamol medicine you are having and paracetamol can be given maximum 4 times per day and also do body sponge to decrease the surface temperature. also when u take temperature in thxe armpit of the child and it is 100 or more then only consider it as fever and give paracetamol. higher medicines for fever like ibugesic and mefenamic has to be given only after medical consultation. after givinxg fever medicines you can wait for maximum 3 days and then meet your doctor if it is not improving. keep the child in cool atmosphere
