#AskTheExpert my son is suffering from sneezing since 5 days, we are giving Chesten cold as medicine but it is not getting solved can you please help me on this sir, he is having little cough too. Their is no fever sir.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cold most of the time is a viral illness where there could be running nose sneezing along with cough and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration . steam inhalation will also be useful in this .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be used okdnce a proper evaluation by the doctor is done and according to the type of cough its prescribed.
if any fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the temperature and the dose can be repeated again after 6 hours if required .
