#AskTheExpert my son is 2 years 10 months, he has constipation problem, many a times he feels the pressure but could not pass the stool, so at times there is a gap of 2-3 days in motion. should I give any laxative? am increasing his water intake, but he consumes sweets which i think could b the cause

A. give a cause of constipation medicine Your child is having constipation for which kindly give plenty of water to drink and fibre diet made from cereals pulses vegetables and fruits. Changes in diet has to be made Specially give papaya, banana, oats, fennel seeds water pear, prune, pineapple, resins, plum as it will help in decreasing constipation. Even after that the problem continues kindly meet your doctor for constipation medicine. it is important for you tgo know that the problem of constipation will improve with increasing age of the child. You may increase or decrease the dosage of constipation medicine if needed according to the consistency of the stool.
