#AskTheExpert my son is 11 months old. right from yesterday started sneezing and cough. we did gave him Soventus Jr for cough and will be giving sporidex as he is sneezing. is it something elae that you would suggest.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children4 years agoA. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination.
steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest.
As a part of viral illness there could be associated symptoms like cough and jfever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .
