yes it can be guven. Cough and cold may be due to any seasonal change and due to any viral infection . Ste can be given at home and if cough is much then asthakind can also be given to baby 3 times in a day and paracetamol for the fever .

Cough and Cold needs to be treated only after a proper examination by a doctor after the exact cause is diagnosed.it may be due to infection or allergy.it may not be related to food items or climate but seasonal changes may aggravate the susceptibility to get infected .
maintain good immunity of the child with proper diet and supplements.
if associated with fever too, calpol can be given three times a day..
As the first line of treatment, give steam .to relieve blocked nose and nasoclear drops can also be given multiple times.
Cough Syrup or nebulization should be given only after a proper evaluation according to the type of cough .self medication may not be so helpful so please consult your doctor once. if the cough is productive you can give kbrozeet-ls or ambrodil syrup for now only n continue only after doctor's advice.avoid refrigerated items and give simple home-mbade preparations a required.child may not be interested in food due to altered sensations of taste bud in illness will gradually begin to eat as symptoms resolve.
