#asktheexpert my daughter is 8year old. recently I noticed that her underarms were smelling . just a week ago, for some reason I had to examine her private parts and was astonished to find pubic hair. is it normal? i was not prepared for these changes at that age. should i be concerned about it? will it affect the growth of my daughter in any way? have noticed no change in her chest area

Changes progress slowly. These early physical changes are not caused by a disorder, and only a few children go on to develop actual precocious puberty.
