#asktheexpert my daughter is 2years and 11 months. she has very irregular bowel movements and while passing she cries a lot and she is fear of passing her motion. not that hard motion but she cries a lot.. but she drinks enough water and have fruits.. what to do for regular bowel movements.

A. Hello, your baby girl is 3 years old and she has irregular bowel movements and difficulty in pooping so you can give her duphalac syrup 10 ml at night times

A. constipation in children is common in which diet modification is required that is including high fibres in the diet for which you can give seasonal fruits like papaya, watermelon and seasonal vegetables will also help you can give daliya , oatsmeal also to your child which is rich in fibres and nutrients tooo. giving excess of milk may also cause constipation, so you should limit its quantity.also avoid banana which may aggravate .lactulose or polyetkhylene glycol is of good help, sorbilene is also an option but you should give any medicine or suppository only when prescribed by your pediatrician.. medication is the secondary oiption.diet modification is the key.plenty of liquids are of great help too.
