Signs Your Baby is Ready for Solids:
✔️ Can sit with support and hold head steady
✔️ Shows interest in food (tries to grab it)
✔️ Opens mouth when food is offered
✔️ No longer pushes food out with the tongue (tongue-thrust reflex reduced)
First Foods to Introduce (Start with Single Ingredients):
1️⃣ Rice Cereal or Oatmeal: Mix with breast milk or formula for a smooth texture.
2️⃣ Mashed Fruits: Banana, apple puree, or pear puree.
3️⃣ Cooked & Mashed Vegetables: Carrot, sweet potato, pumpkin.
4️⃣ Dal Water / Moong Dal Soup: Light and easy to digest.
5️⃣ Ragi Porridge: A nutritious option.
How to Introduce Solids:
✔️ Start with one food at a time and wait for 3-5 days before introducing a new one.
✔️ Give 1-2 teaspoons initially and gradually increase the quantity.
✔️ Ensure food is smooth, well-cooked, and mashed.
✔️ Always continue breastfeeding or formula as the main source of nutrition.
⚠️ Avoid: Salt, sugar, honey, cow’s milk, nuts, and processed foods.
If unsure, consult your pediatrician before starting.
