#AskTheExpert My 3 n half yr son not gaining weight satisfactorily,he is now 11kg. As per doctors opinion he is well active and healthy. But my consern is fat on body, because of any nutrition deficiency he is not gaining weight?? please suggest diet

A. it's not up to the mark weight, Give protein rich diet...as protien is building unit of our body. Like- all pulses, eggs, all milk and milk products, banana, youghrt, beans, chickpeas, tofu, nuts.These foods are important for your child’s bone growth, muscle development and stimulate body growth. As they are rich in proteins and minerals, including them in a child’s diet ensures increase in height and weight. In fact, dried fruits and nuts are the most ideal food for undernourished children to gain weight as they provide all the required micro-nutrients along with calories and fats.
