Pallavi RajMom of a 8 m old boy3 weeks agoA. It's common for babies, especially breastfed ones, to poop after every feeding, and it's also normal for them to cry or strain before a bowel movement, particularly in the first few months. This is often due to a reflex called the gastrocolic reflex, which stimulates the digestive system after eating. However, if the crying is severe, prolonged, or accompanied by other concerning symptoms like fever, lethargy, or changes in stool consistency (very hard or watery), it's important to consult with a pediatrician.
Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy3 years agoA. gastrocolic reflex is very normal in children.
in this phenomena the child is having semi solid to solid stool after every episode of of food / milk intake.
if the growth / weigcht gain of the child is propcer there is no need to worry about this phenomena.
usually this phenomena decreases with increasing age of the child
