This may due to either allergy or infection and some times due to climate changes and temperature variations .
For cold you can give drops wikoryl AF 0.5 ml to the child 2-3 times per day. 
try to prevent temperature variations around the child and give nasal saline drops frequently for nasal blockage, simple cough and cold. Indirect steam is helpful.

Home remedies like Tulsi Ginger diluted with water combination (honey can be added after 1 year age)and turmeric with milk at least 2 times per day.
Give warm wzater to drink 
If no improvement in 2 or 3 days then meet your doctor 
paracetamol for fever and pain.

Then maybe it is because of pneumonia it is not in control do not worry if the child is in hospital the child would be taken proper care and slowly you will see with the medication and even the nebuliser child it is going to help in reducing down the condition
