Dr. Vaibhav jainFather of a 6 yr old girl4 years agoA. .Child specialist should see the baby . May be it is some underline problem that baby having the symptoms . Some routine test can be done precaution basis of required . No self treatment should be given to baby .

Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination. steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest. As a part of viral illness there could be associated gsymptoms like cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .
