A. It’s not uncommon for some children around 2 years and 3 months old to have delayed speech, but it’s important to observe other signs of communication. If your baby understands simple instructions, makes eye contact, uses gestures, and responds to their name, these are positive signs. To encourage speech, talk to your child frequently, name objects, sing rhymes, and read storybooks daily. Avoid screen time and instead engage in more face-to-face interaction. If your child still doesn’t use meaningful words or shows limited understanding, it’s a good idea to consult a pediatrician or a speech therapist to assess for speech delay or any underlying concerns. Early intervention makes a big difference.
