#AskTheExpert I am having pregnancy of 3 months+. My maternity hospital doctor prescribed to take progrestrone 200 mg tablet orally. More than 3 times I consulted so far. It's been 2 months now to taking this tablet. She has not advised for ultrasound yet. Somewhere I read one can take this tablet during pregnancy for 15 days maximum. Please advise should I continue.

it can be continued during whole pregnancy too.
once consult your gynaecologist for routine check up and do all routine investigation required and start treatment as advised by your doctor

Treatment with progesterone during pregnancy may help some people reduce their risk for premature birth. If you have a short cervix, treatment with vaginal progesterone gel may help prevent premature birth.
