#asktheexpert hi dr. I just want to know I have given a birth on 29th march that time my baby weight was 2.25kg n now she is of 3kg. I unable to feed her and she depends only formula milk is it reason not gaining weight

A. Hello there ma’am please do not worry about it too much. Baby weight depends on birth weight and normally doubles by the age of six months and triples by the age of one year. If baby is active and taking feed properly then no need to panic. Please take Shatavari powder with milk twice a day to increase breast milk supply. Also feed the baby often which also helps in increasing breast milk supply. Masaage your breasts gently before feeding the baby. You can also use breast pump to take out milk which also helps in production of breast milk. Thanks and take care
