Q.

#AskTheExpert Hi Doctor, My baby (male) is 2 years 1 month old.. Premature (32 weeks.). Weight: 10kg. Height :80cm. He is active and just started to talk (words).. His soft spot is not closed yet . He had hypocalcemia and vit d deficiency one year ago .. Took medicine and came to normal. When checked recently vit d count is 18 ng/ml. He has been taking vit d suppliments 60kIU for the last 3 weeks. He has a very low appetite and he hardly takes solid food but likes to drink juice, milk ,etc.... Is open soft spot normal at this age? And about his height ,weight and appetite - do we need to check anything more ? Thank you for your time in advance..

A. Don't worrythe soft spot usually closes by 18 months and since the baby is pre mature so iy might take some more time for now you must focus on giving a nutritious diet to the child
