#asktheexpert hello doctor. my child is 14onths old and he is developing the habit of eating soil, mud, sand, chalk, pebble eyc in his mouth. how can i control this ? refuses to eat food too

due to iron deficiency as well as nutritional deficiency children place dirty things in the oral cavity as well as they may lick soil or they may lick the walls.
they may place footwears in their oral cavity.
meet your docstor because iron supplements needs to be started and give food rich in iron

Sarika guptaMom of 2 children1 Year agoA. Hello there ma’am please do not worry about it too much and it is quite common in babies at this age and please divert baby mind when baby try to eat and also evaluate once with your local child doctor in person as it may be due to deficiency of calcium.
