#asktheexpert Hello doctor My baby is formula fed as my milk is produced very less and gets frequent cold since born even we had to give antibiotics to the little one. I am taking medication for breast milk but is not working. Please advice

A. it is important to keep the child hydrated. anti cold medicines are not given without medical consultation what you can give now is nasal saline drops which is salt water and can be given again and agdain to decrease nasal blockage as well as cough and cold try to prevent temperature variations around the child and keep the child well covered. can give indirxect steam inhalation . anti-cold medicines at this age have got side effects so can be given only after medical consultation.

A. hello always is not a good option and antibiotics be given only when there is high infection and prescribed by your doctor and you can put saline drop or use instant drop from babyhug which is effective for cold and make it feel better and comefortable
