A. Constipation in Babies less than 1 year is very common and more in formula fed babies and also when initially the semi solid food fuhas been started after 6 months . you can give bonnisan drops and some enzyme preparations in proper dose suggested by doctor and cow's milk should be avoided before 1 year of age . Medications are required but it should be given only in medical supervision .

A. A newborn baby who is exclusively breastfed can sometimes go several days without having a bowel movement. This is usually normal as long as the baby is feeding well, gaining weight, and doesn't appear to be in pain or discomfort. Breast milk is highly digestible, and it's common for breastfed babies to have infrequent bowel movements, sometimes even up to a week between bowel movements. This is because breast milk is efficiently absorbed by the baby's digestive system, leaving very little waste. If your baby is feeding well, seems content, has a soft abdomen, and is gaining weight appropriately, it's likely not a cause for concern. However, if you have any concerns or if your baby appears to be in discomfort or distress, it's important to consult with your pediatrician or healthcare provider. They can provide guidance and assess your baby's health to ensure there are no underlying issues causing the infrequent bowel movements.
