While you should always follow your doctor's advice, here's a gentle and traditional Indian home remedy that might help soothe a baby's cough:
**Ajwain (Carom Seeds) Pouch:**
1. Take a clean, soft cloth or muslin cloth.
2. Place a teaspoon of ajwain (carom seeds) in the center.
3. Tie up the cloth securely to create a small pouch.
4. Warm the pouch very lightly by placing it on a warm, dry pan for a few seconds.
5. Allow it to cool down until it's warm to the touch, not hot.
6. Gently place the warm pouch on your baby's chest or back, while ensuring that it's not too hot to cause discomfort.
Ajwain is believed to have natural properties that can help relieve congestion and ease cough symptoms. However, use this remedy with caution, as it's essential to ensure that the pouch is not too hot, and always consult with your pediatrician to discuss the best approach for your baby's specific condition.
Remember that for babies as young as 3 months, professional medical advice is crucial, and home remedies should be used with care and under the guidance of a healthcare provider.
