Don't worry about the mess. Some babies don't like to eat until they explore the food themselves. Also try to change the routine menu and introduce new recipes following the two day gap rule.
Use different colored plates in different shapes and different types of spoons in different colours to get ur child's attention. After one year of age u can give almost everything that u eat as a family following the two day gap rule. For improving the immunity, you should be giving a healthy and balanced diet. The child's regular meals should comprise of cereals, pulses, greens, vegetables, fruits, nuts, dry fruits, dairy products etc., There should be more protein and Vitamin C intake which are very good in building immunity. Vegetables, fruits and spices protect the child from falling sick, cereals, nuts and dry fruits provide energy, protein rich foods help in the child's growth and Milk and milk products does all three jobs - protection, energy, body building. You should make sure all these are in balance in ur child's regular meals.
