Q.

#askthedoctor baby is not taking enough milk and she takes only 5 mins from breast milk not more than that. is this will affect baby weight gain ?

A. for low breast milk supply you need to take plenty of liquids and high fibre diet and give frequent feeding to your child so that milk production increases as it is a hormonal phenomenon regulated by signals to the brain so you should feel positively motivated and do not try to give formula milk unless advised by your paediatrician and if the weight gain and urinary output of your baby is normal .if required you can also take help from a lactation consultant who will guide you in a very proper way regarding establishment of good lactation as well as will help you in relieving pain if you have any. med; cicines are not of much help in this but definitely your diet is very important.

No If your child is taking sufficient seeding in little time also than that is completely fine so need not worry about it you just have to see if your child is gaining a minimum of 400 g every month then that’s good enough that me to Child is getting appropriate best feeling from you so there’s nothing you need to worry about
