Q.

#askdoctors I have a 10 day old infant and his tears are coming only from his right eye and no tears in left eye. Is this normal? what can be the reason for this? due to tears he also has a lot of mucus in his right eye all the time - is this normal?

A. Hello, your baby boy is newborn just 10 days old and he is having right eye dacriocystitis so use tobacin eye drops two times a day and massage the nasolacrimal duct on that side till it gets cured

A. hi usually it is normal among young babies to have watery eyes. please give gentle massage from inner sides of eyes to tip of nose. it will help to open blocked tear ducts. don't apply kajal or anything. clean your child eyes with fresh tap water. if there is discharge with yellow or green color , itching , redness etc then please consult your pediatrician for once.
