Q.

age of my boy child is 2 years 8 month. But he cannot express anything. whatever he pronounce is not understandable. If we call him by his name he responds. If he needs anything he just show by his finger. Is it a normal bahaviour? please suggest what to do.

A. if the situation is like this a proper assessment should be done and all the milestone needs to be assessed so that the doctor can decide about the development and delay or any behavioural changes

A. By 24 months (two years), 50 to 75% of speech should be intelligible to familiar people. By 36 months (three years), 75 to 100% of speech should be intelligible to familiar people. By four years of age, a child should usually be understood, including by people who are unfamiliar to them
