A. If your 3-year-9-month-old baby is feeling unusually sleepy and tired for 2–3 days, here are some possible reasons and steps you can take:
Possible Causes: Viral infection or fever (even low-grade) – Early sign of illness. Lack of proper sleep at night – Interrupted or reduced sleep can cause daytime fatigue. Nutritional deficiencies – Low iron or vitamins can lead to tiredness. Dehydration – Not drinking enough water or fluids. Worm infestation – Common at this age and can cause fatigue. Overexertion – Too much activity or screen time can make them tired. What You Can Do: Check temperature – Even mild fever can cause sleepiness. Offer hydrating fluids: water, coconut water, lemon water, ORS. Give nutritious, light meals: khichdi, dal rice, fruits. Ensure she’s getting enough nighttime sleep (10–11 hours). Observe for other symptoms: cold, cough, rashes, pain, or irritability. When to See a Doctor: If she is drowsy most of the day, not active at all, or sleeping excessively. If there are other symptoms like vomiting, fever, paleness, or weakness.
