Q. #AskTheExpert Hi Doctor, My daughter is always sleeping in my lap. And she is afraid of dark. If I am switching on the lights during her bed time, she is started playing and jumping around. I don't want her to afraid of anything but I am very tired due to her lap sleeping. At night also, whenever she wakes up, she asks me to wake up and sleep on my lap. it's very tiring.

Q. Hi.. my 5 month old baby boy used to sleep by 10 pm latest right from when he was 1 month old. We used to turn off the lights and keep the bed lamp on to make him realise that it's sleep time. But for the past few weeks, he is not sleeping as before and also is not sleeping on his own. He is sleeping only if we rock him..either in cradle or on our shoulder. How to train him to sleep on his own and as soon as possible after the lights are turned off?

Q. My son is two months old. I normally put him to sleep on my lap and then once he is asleep place him on bed. This works fine during the day. But at night once I place him on bed after he is asleep he immediately cries and wakes up. And if I take him into lap he will fall into sleep again without any problem. Does this indicate any problem he is suffering from? I normally switch off the lights at night.
