A. child under the age of 2 years needs at least 1/4 to 1/2 of a large (250-millilitre) cup of the ORS drink after each watery stool. Give 1-2 teaspoon every 2-3 minutes. A child aged 2 years or older needs at least 1/2 to 1 whole large (250-millilitre) cup of the ORS drink after each watery stool.Doctors often recommend an oral rehydration solution (ORS) such as Pedialyte, Ceralyte, or Gastrolyte, in small and frequent doses, to get a baby's body rehydrated. Even if the baby is vomiting, parents are encouraged to administer the solution.
