If your baby is also Breastfeeding and is doing it effectively then there is absolutely no necessity to add formula. it can result into oversupply and reflux issues. please Breastfeed the baby on demand and the let baby decide the nursing duration and frequency
If your baby is exclusively formula fed then feed the baby as per hunger cues and offer when roots for milk.
