what will happen if i fail to burp a baby after feeding him in a lying down position..?

There's no harm in feeding the baby sideways, just keep in mind that your breast and the babies head is on the same level.
for this don't use any pillow or your hand beneath the babie's head.
but after feeding try to hold her upright position (you can also hold her on your stomach) and give burp. and if you fail sometimes but the baby is healthy and comfortable it's fine.
no need to worry.
